July to August . . and it's a boy!

Monday, August 9, 2010

On Saturday I saw movement from outside! Twice actually. That was so neat. And Tim felt him for the first time on today. Geeze, five months, can't believe I'm halfway to more than halfway there!

Friday, August 6

I had my first appointment with my new OB today and we really like her. The ultrasound showed that it was very clearly a boy He yawned, sucked his thumb, rubbed his eyes, hiccupped; it was so cute! He is measuring about 1-2 weeks ahead, so that's better than being small, especially since I only gained 4 lbs in 9 weeks. One possible complication was found: partial placental previa. That means the placenta is blocking the birth canal, and could mean I would have to get a c-section. We'll check again in a month or two. Since I'm still sick most days, I was happy to get a new prescription. My next appointment is on my 24th birthday, so that's fun.

Thursday, July 22

We are all moved in and have been very busy. I'm still nauseous most days, and vomiting a couple days a week, which is not fun. Tim was laid-off, which we expected, and why we moved. What we didn't expect was the insurance company saying they won't cover me, as pregnancy is a "pre-existing condition". We found the only plan in the country that will cover me for my pregnancy, but it won't kick in until August first So, we had the unfortunate sadness of having to cancel the untrasound this past Tuesday at my new OB in which we likely would have found out what we are having. I will just have to be patient until my appointment on the sixth to get the ultrasound and morning sickness meds.
